The website's theme determines the looking and feel of the site. This includes the fonts used, their sizes/colors and the graphics used to create the overall appearance of the website. Don't fight the theme by trying to make your section of the website look different. The theme brings consistency and a professional look. If you feel that you need to change the defaults for emphasis, use it sparingly and use the options that Drupal gives us (don't freelance).
